How to Configure the Whistleblowing Channel

If your organization has contracted the Whistleblowing Channel add-on, you can customize each reporting portal with your corporate image, default language, and the texts that appear to whistleblowers in each language.

This article explains how to access and edit your portals. For an overview of what the channel is and the regulations behind it, see What Is the Ommnio Whistleblowing Channel?

Before you start

  • The Whistleblowing Channel add-on must be active in your Ommnio account. If it isn't, contact your account manager.
  • You need the appropriate permissions to configure add-ons. This is typically assigned to the person holding the compliance role in your organization.
  • Configuration is done from the web version of Ommnio, not from the mobile app.

How to access the configuration

  1. In the web version of Ommnio, go to Settings.
  2. Open the Apps tab.
  3. Find Whistleblower in the list and click Configure.

You'll land on the configuration screen, where all portals activated for your organization are listed.

Working with multiple portals

You can have as many portals as you need — for different business units, brands, countries, or facilities. Each portal is configured independently, so you can tailor the experience to each audience.

Click on any portal to edit its settings.

What you can customize per portal

For each portal you can set:

  • Corporate colors — match the portal's look and feel to your brand.
  • Default language — the language shown first when a whistleblower opens the portal.
  • Available languages — add as many languages as your workforce needs.
  • Portal texts per language — welcome message, instructions, form labels, confirmation messages, and any other text shown to the whistleblower.

Tips for a good portal setup

  • Write clearly and neutrally. Whistleblowers often report under stress. Use short sentences and avoid legal jargon wherever possible.
  • Be explicit about anonymity. Your portal allows both confidential and anonymous reporting. Make the difference visible to the whistleblower so they can make an informed choice.
