How to Share a Direct Link to a Folder or File in Documents

You can now copy a direct link to any folder or file in the Documents section and share it in any chat. When a recipient taps the link, they're taken straight to that folder or file — no browsing or searching required.

Who can use it?

Both Company Admins and Team Admins can copy and share document links. Company Admins have access to all folders and files across the organization, while Team Admins can share links to the folders and files within their permission scope.

How do I get the link?

  1. Go to the Documents section.
  2. Navigate to the folder or file you want to share.
  3. Click the three-dot menu (⋮) next to the item and select Share.
  4. In the sharing dialog, click Copy link (bottom-left corner).
  5. Paste the link into any chat conversation.

Where does the link open?

If the recipient is using the Ommnio mobile app, the link opens directly inside the app. If they're on a computer, it opens in the web browser. Either way, the experience is seamless — one tap or click to reach the content.

What about permissions?

Existing permissions always apply. If a user receives a link to a folder or file they don't have access to, they won't be able to view its contents. Sharing a link does not grant new permissions.

Can I share links to both files and folders?

Yes. The copy-link option works for individual files as well as entire folders.

Where can I paste the link?

In any chat — whether it's a read-only corporate channel or a team conversation. A link works like any other message content.
