Who Can I Chat With One-on-One in Ommnio?

Your organization decides which colleagues you can reach in a private, one-on-one chat. There are three ways this can happen:

1. Through an open chat group

If you share an open chat group with another user (not a read-only group), you can always start a one-on-one chat with them. Just open the group, click on the group title to see the member list, and tap any member to start a private conversation.

2. Through team membership

When you belong to a Team (for example, your department), the Team Administrator can give you permission to view your teammates' contacts and start private chats with them.

3. When an administrator messages you first

If an Account Administrator has access to the global directory, they can send you a direct message even if you don't share a group or team. When that happens, the chat is already open on your side and you can reply privately.

Who decides this?

These permissions are set by your company's administrators based on how they've configured Ommnio. If you think you should be able to chat with a specific colleague but can't, contact your manager or administrator.
